🎳 Is A 21 Minute 5K Good
Beating the sub-30-minute barrier for running a 5K is generally considered a good achievement. It shows you’ve got good levels of fitness and are an established runner. If you can run a 5K in less than 30 minutes you will probably feel quite proud of yourself!
Currently in love with a 6:00/km pace, but can hold 5:30 when necessary. Long runs (which are relative, because I'm currently not running more than 17km) are in between the 6:30 and 6:00 pace. You're doing great! Yakolev • 8 yr. ago. Around 5 minutes a kilometer for 10k runs, now I do them in about 4 minutes.
yeah im a freshman in college just running on my own.. i made the varsity team at my 3rd-in-state a school with 25-26 minute times. to get 20th in our highly competitive county (running county meets had more competition that states cause we ran against good 3a and 4a school rather than all the dinky 2as across the state) you'd need a 21 and most likely make it.. 19-20 would be set though

The program is structured such that it assumes a ten minute mile, the final day being 31 minutes and a 3.1 mile (5k) run. Anything remotely near that value is considered VERY good. Now that I have come back to running, my times are closer to 12:00 per mile. Yeah, I had to slow down after taking much of last year, off.
If you are unable to run a sub 30 minute 5k while training exceptionally hard, it is probably time to get yourself into a running group with some people who can teach you how to train and run correctly. Incidentally, for the most part, you should not be training exceptionally hard. 80% of your training should be easy. Great-Gap1030.
You will need to sustain 3 minutes 36 seconds per kilometer for 5 kilometers to run a 17:59. Remember, you don’t want to do long, slow easy runs every single weekend. A big mistake runners make is running too many miles or kilometers each week too slow. So, your goal is to sustain sub 18 min 5k pace more effectively than your competition.
First-timers, add between 1:30 and two minutes per mile to determine a comfortable pace. For example, if the calculator says you could race a half-marathon in 2:00, or at 9:10 pace, plan to go out
It takes 30 to 37 minutes to walk 3K at a moderate pace. 5K: 5 kilometers equals 3.1 miles. This is a common race distance for charity walks and fun runs (although competitive runners also participate in 5Ks and run them at a fast pace). It takes about an hour to walk 5K at a moderate pace. 10K: 10 kilometers equals 6.2 miles. This is a common
People who diminish others achivements by saying things like "20 min 5K is a peice of piss" are assholes. I ran a 17:30 5K at about 155lbs and have run multiplr around 19:30 at 165 (75kg). I'm not "big" or really strong, but you dont need to be skin and bones. My 17:30 ws after running arounf 60-70miles per week with 2-3 days of speedwork a week.

I went from a 25 minute 5K to a 21 minute 5K in about six months a couple years ago just from marathon training. I had a goal of sub 20 but never really focused on it and didn't get there. Then last year I think I was capable of running a sub 20 5K during half marathon training (ran a 21 minute 5K tempo run the day after a brutal 15 miler) but
